Philip Berry Joins RW Consortium

Holmdel, N.J., October 6, 2009 –Joseph J. Scalice, President of RW Consulting Group, announced today the appointment of Philip A. Berry as the newest associate of the RW Consortium, an alliance of nationally-known experts in multigenerational multicultural consulting and training.

“Philip has an extraordinarily deep background that gives him great insights into cultures throughout the world as well as appreciation for the strengths and potential of the four generations.  We are very pleased to welcome him to what we believe is the finest group of facilitators in the country, providing field-tested skills and experience that help clients engage diverse teams to achieve strategic and financial goals that increase both competitiveness and performance of their companies”, said Scalice.

Mr. Berry is President of Philip Berry Associates, LLC, an entrepreneurial consulting firm that builds global competencies in such areas as leadership, diversity, talent development and executive coaching.

He offers more than 30 years of domestic and global experience in a variety of companies, including Colgate-Palmolive, Procter & Gamble, Digital Equipment Corporation and the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority.

At Colgate, he was most recently Vice President of Global Workplace Initiatives and a Corporate Officer.  Previously, he had been Vice President, Global Employee Relations – Best Place to Work.  His experience at Colgate includes senior Human Resources positions in Central Europe/Russia, Africa/Middle East, and Latin America.  He was Chief Human Resource Officer for Colgate’s European Division.

“Companies are just beginning to grasp the complexity of dealing with multi-generational  diversity and its cross cultural tenets.  RW Consulting Group has proven techniques that are business focused and very detailed to handle these issues.  I am happy to partner with them to enable companies and organizations to improve their ability to effectively manage this dynamic. I don’t know of any consulting group that has the depth of knowledge in this area like RW Consulting Group,” says Philip Berry.

Philip is Vice Chairman of both the Panel for Education Policy, appointed by the Mayor of New York and the Board of Trustees for City University.  He is also a member of the Business Leadership Council of City University and is on the Advisory Board of New York City Center.  He is Co-Chair of the Corporate Diversity Council for the Asia Society.

Philip has received numerous awards, including the Crossing Borders award from Feminist Press.  He has been honored by National Hispanic Corporate Achievers and the National Association of Asian American Professionals.  Crain’s Magazine called him one of the Most Powerful Blacks in New York.

The RW Consortium Group was formed in mid-August in response to a growing corporate need to support expanding domestic and global diversity challenges in which the four age groups are intertwined with multiple cultures. ”The challenge of managers globally is to identify and engage the strengths of the various groups while identifying and overcoming impediments to growth,” according to Mr. Scalice.

Members of the consortium, in addition to Mr. Berry, are:

Paul Anovick, President of Anovick Associates, the lead instructor and developer for RW Consulting Group, who focuses on leadership, communications, project management, conflict resolution and creative problem-solving.
